Your wedding day is a tapestry of moments and memories, each thread weaving together to create a beautiful story. Among these moments, the details—often small, but profoundly significant—play a crucial role in shaping the narrative of your celebration. As a photographer, it is such a joy to capture these intricate details, especially when the backdrop is as historic and elegant as the Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, DC.

When Rachel and Chris reached out to me about photographing their wedding day, Rachel said they wanted a celebration that was both unique and unforgettable. Their choice of Assembly Studios in Atlanta as their wedding venue was a testament to their desire for a chic, modern, and stylish affair. Here’s a look at their stunning day and how Assembly Studios provided the perfect backdrop for their love story.

There’s nothing quite like Paris in the spring time. There’s blooms everywhere you turn. One of my favorite songs is by Billie Holliday called “April in Paris” and it was top of the list on things I had to do in this lifetime. I got the opportunity to go in April and let me tell you it did not disappoint.

2023 was the year I really tried my best to focus on destination weddings. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nashville with all of my heart, and I will never leave. It will always be home for me now. But boy do I love to travel.

This wedding was one I was looking forward to all year. Haley told me that she was planning a wedding for December, and the goal was to be as elegant as possible. She booked the wedding venue The Room on Main in downtown Dallas. As a fellow Texan with my family still living in Dallas, I was so excited to travel home and photograph her wedding.

This wedding day could not have been more beautiful. I flew to Nebraska for the first time to photograph Courtney and Logan’s wedding at Arbor Day Farm. I was blown away with all of the rich color that Nebraska had to offer. So many tones of yellow, red and green, and don’t even get me started on the sunsets. WOW!

I had the privelege of photographing Logan proposing to Courtney in Nashville. Logan had a sweet proposal surprise for her and flew her whole family to Nashville for a surprise dinner with a private chef. When he told me over the phone all of his plans, I was so excited for Courtney! A couple months after the session, they reach out and asked if I’d be willing to photograph their wedding in Nebraska. I said OF COURSE, and booked my trip.

Seaside holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been traveling there for vacation with family and friends since I first fell in love with it back in 2012. There’s just something about being able to escape to a place where people are riding their bikes, walking to restaurants and purely enjoying the community there. It’s a safe place. It’s where you can go to escape everyday life, but also get to relax on the beach under an umbrella.

November was such an exciting month because I knew we were traveling to Seaside, Florida, for Samantha and Matt’s wedding day. This was something I had been looking forward to for so long. When I did the wedding consultation with Sami, she told me something that she really wanted to do was a bridal session.
